This is a "zoomed out" view ....

Note the "yellowed" Simi Valley right above L.A.  ... we started there ... (obviously)

and we went down to Julian ... to the right of San Diego  ... to the south east of Escondido.

On the way back home, we stopped in Doheny beach  ... slightly south of L.A.
